Using his experience in construction
and design, Dick McCormack began testing concepts to replace the World
Trade Center. The San Diego television and print media have found
his story inspirational and continue to share it with the local community.
Dick McCormack has a dream. One man. A leader. An American Patriot.
McCormack works day and night to have his voice heard. He inspires
us. He understands how the people will work together for the future
of the World Trade Center Site.
For your viewing and reading pleasure, we have included a PDF copy
of some of his presentation materials to people in New York. We have
also included web-friendly images and media coverage of Dick's presentation,
including a replay of the Channel 10 News broadcast launching Dick
McCormack on his latest voyage to New York.
We will be updating the story of Freedom Plaza regularly. Thank you
for visiting. Please return again soon. |

The story behind
the genesis of Freedom Plaza is told in this PDF file. |
|
Five identical buildings arranged in a star pattern which preserves
the footprints of WTC-1 and WTC-2. |
|
The promenade, which
continues along West Street, will be home to one tree for each
person who perished. |
|
The orientation
of the five structures permits Greenwich Street to run through
the entire site. |
|
The architecture
incorporates some newer design elements of New York's financial
district while using both contemporary and historic finish materials. |
|
The buildings will be connected by a network of skywalks to
improve planning efforts for inter-building foot traffic, fire
fighting and evacuation. |
|
A ground-supported
communications tower extends upwards 1776 feet, making it the
tallest structure in the United States. |
|
The mast will be
lighted 364 days per year, darkened only on September 11. On
that day, the blue lights commemorating the original WTC-1 and
WTC-2 sites will be lit. |
